Mary Lou V. Stricklin, President/CEO

Under Mary Lou’s leadership, the Visiting Nurse Association has experienced tremendous growth in scope of services and geographic area extending from Northeast through Mid-Ohio.

Mary Lou is the recipient of numerous regional and national awards for her professional expertise and achievements in nonprofit management and the nursing profession. Mary Lou co-founded Vision on 22nd Street, the innovative education-practice partnership with Cleveland State University School of Nursing, known widely as a progressive community-based nursing program. The home healthcare industry has cited her executive leadership in the VNA’s advanced technology applications to community health nursing practice.

An active lecturer and speaker, she has authored dozens of professional articles and is a doctoral candidate in health Care Delivery at Erasmus University, Rotterdam, Netherlands. She holds an MSN from the Bolton School of Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio, an EMBA from Baldwin-Wallace College, Berea, Ohio, and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing (FAAN).

As a dedicated professional and community volunteer, she serves as a trustee and officer to numerous civic, professional and human services organizations.

 

Roberta L. Laurie, Executive VP Hospice/HouseCalls

With over 30 years at the Visiting Nurse Association, Roberta Laurie has been instrumental in developing Hospice & Palliative Care Partners of Ohio, formerly VNA Hospice,  into a top level program, making it a model for others throughout the entire county.

As the Executive VP of Hospice and VNA HouseCalls, Laurie provides executive leadership in business growth and development, contract management, budget preparation, strategy development and planning for both companies. In addition, Laurie remains the Executive Director of Hospice & Palliative Care Partners of Ohio, where she is responsible for the administration, direction, and coordination of all activities of the hospice and special care programs for the terminally ill—including service planning, delivery, operations, program development, human resourcing and overall administration.

Roberta Laurie is the recipient of numerous regional awards for her professional expertise and achievements in hospice and home healthcare. Her awards include the OHPCO’s Heart of Hospice Award, VNA’s Distinguished Women in Healthcare Award and YWCA’s Woman of Professional Excellence Award.

Laurie has a BSN from St. John College and an EMBA from Baldwin Wallace College. In addition to her contributions to VNA, Laurie has served as a member of the Board of Directors for the Ohio Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (OHPCO) and the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO).

 

Sharon Jones, Executive VP Clinical/Operations

Sharon Jones has nearly 30 years experience in home health care, including 18 years at a senior management level. In her role as Executive VP Clinical/Operations, she is responsible for corporate-wide agency operations to support delivery of services and programs, and corporate-wide human resource policy and administration, including labor relations. Jones coordinates corporate risk management, compliance and quality improvement activities. In addition, she is a member of the Executive Committee responsible for strategic planning and financial management.

Jones has a BSN from St. John College, an MSN from the University of Akron, and is a Certified Nursing Administration, Advanced from the American Nurses Association (CNAA).

In addition to her contributions to VNA, Jones has presented on local, regional and national levels on topics including nursing, home health operations and finance, as well as technology use in home health.

 

Mario Danese, Executive VP Finance

Mario Danese has over 27 years in the field of accounting and finance, with 19 of those years in the home healthcare industry. He is responsible for all financial operations and planning of the Visiting Nurse Association Healthcare Partners of Ohio, with a consolidated operating budget of $45 million. He is in charge of general and patient accounting functions, financial reporting, budget and reimbursement programs. Danese is a member of the Executive Committee responsible for strategic planning and financial management.

Mario received his BS in Accounting from the University of Akron, and his MBA from Baldwin-Wallace College. He is also is a CPA, certified in the state of Ohio.

Moreover, Danese presents at the local and national level and has served as a financial instructor at several local college/universities.

 

Rajesh Shetye, Executive VP of Information Systems

Rajesh Shetye has more than 15 years of experience in information technology, primarily focusing on the home health care industry. As Executive Vice President of Information Systems at the Visiting Nurse Association, Shetye has developed a wide variety of technology initiatives to enhance patient coordination and care.

His recent technology initiatives include the implementation of a computerized medical records system at the VNA and a point of care/clinical automation system. These projects entailed the training of more than 250 clinicians to use the new software and deploying 200 laptop computers into the field.

Shetye holds a BS in electrical and telecommunications engineering, a MS in computer engineering from George Mason University, and an EMBA from Case Western Reserve University. He has served on a variety of committees, including the Visiting Nurse Associations of America’s national communications committee, the executive board of Bridgeway Inc., and the Free Clinic of Greater Cleveland.
